Call for papers:

To submit a paper proposal, please send your materials in a single file to Curtis Ryan ( by June 10th, 2018.
Proposals must include paper title, detailed abstract regarding your topic, thesis and plan of presentation, and contact information (including department and institutional affiliation) for the presenter.  Please also indicate whether you are a faculty member or graduate student, since graduate students will also be eligible for the Herbert L. Bodman Award for graduate presentations.
SERMEISS operates on a workshop format: one paper at a time. Space on the program is therefore quite limited, so please apply as soon as possible. This is a juried conference, so proposals will be vetted by a conference committee.  Applicants will then be contacted regarding the decisions of the committee.
Whether you are (or are not) submitting a paper presentation, please mark the date and plan to join us at the SERMEISS meeting in Valle Crucis, North Carolina.
