SERMEISS welcomes proposals for papers to be presented at its fall 2024 conference. Please click on the link above for more information and send all materials in a single file to program chair Curtis Ryan (ryanc@appstate.edu) by July 15, 2024. This is a juried conference, and proposals will be vetted by a conference committee. Applicants will be contacted regarding the decisions of the committee by August 10th.     

Sessions are 40 minutes each, with one presentation at a time by a combination of faculty and graduate students. 

Our official arrival time at the Conference Center is 4:00 p.m on Friday. Facilities become available to us at that time. If you arrive early, enjoy the view from the porch.

If this is will be your first trip to Valle Crucis, you will want to bring some informal clothing and shoes for walking. Mountain views, wooded paths, the waterfall, and colorful leaves tempt most of us to take at least one hike.
